What happens if I decide to receive services?
Kelly S. Magee, L.P.C. will schedule an initial appointment with you, within one to two weeks, to discuss your current needs. She offers appointment times that are designed to meet your needs, since she knows schedules can be difficult to coordinate around school, work, family, etc. At the initial appointment, you and Ms. Magee will determine if outpatient counseling is the best way to help you and then set out goals for treatment including frequency of visits and duration of treatment.
Confidentiality in Therapy
Psychological counseling services are covered under the HIPAA policy to insure all information discussed in treatment is kept confidential. Ms. Magee cannot release any information about your treatment without your informed written consent. Children age 14 and older can consent to their own mental health treatment. The only limits to confidentiality are issues related to safety including harm to self, harm to others, and abuse/neglect of a child.
